Marcia finds herself again after a 10 year battle with anorexia

My name is Marcia and I started the Better Body Better You Program with Tayler in June of this year.  Let me be the first to tell you it changed my life in so many ways; in ways that Tayler doesn’t even know she had an impact.  To really understand where this all started, I need to go back several years to when I was 9; yes I said it 9 years old.  My family was a military family and we moved every three years.  Often times when you are raised in this type of controlled environment you find things that you and only you have control over.  Mine was my weight.  At the age of 9, I weighed around 140 pounds and I was under five feet tall.  At that time we lived in an area where girls were judged pretty severely on their looks and here I was a very happy chubby girl who laughed on the outside but was hurt on the inside.  This was the beginning of ten long years of fighting anorexia.  At my lowest weight I was 72 pounds, running 15 miles a day, eating maybe 150 calories a day, working full time and finishing high school taking Advanced Placement classes.  I must say when I look back that I am lucky to be alive but was strong enough to know I needed help which I received through outpatient care and a strong will. Needless to say, anorexia never truly goes away.  So I have always had this tremendous struggle with my body image.  I went to college and actually obtained a degree in kinesiology.  The intent was to stay healthy with this new information but unfortunately life had [...]

“What Are Your Fitness Goals”

In the past, whenever I was asked my goals, I struggled to come up with an answer. Although I started working out regularly a few years ago, I was never working towards something. A few months ago I decided I wanted to enter a bikini competition to challenge myself. One of the first things I did was contact Tayler about her online coaching. After completing a 12-week prep with Tayler, I competed last weekend. Hiring Tayler was the best thing I did to prepare for the stage. Contest prep is hard; but having Tayler there to tell me how much to eat, the best food sources, what exercises to do, how to pose, and even what to pack, eliminated all the guesswork. I trusted Tayler’s expert advice and ended up in the best shape of my life. And I had fun doing it. I believe the reason my contest prep experience was so positive is because Tayler made my health the top priority. I did not do excessive cardio, cut out all carbs, or drop my calories dangerously low. In fact, my family and friends often joked about how I was constantly eating! It feels good to know that I accomplished what I set out to do in a healthy way that I can be proud of. No matter what I choose for my next "goal," I know the exercise and nutrition knowledge I gained from Tayler over the past several weeks will help me get there. I would recommend Tayler to anyone considering competing or looking to transform their body!

Irasema achieves her fitness goals in just 8 short weeks!

"I just want to thank Tayler Made Fitness for teaching me new things. I have been going to the gym since I was younger but I never really knew how to lift or follow a nutrition plan. When I asked Tayler to help me push myself she welcomed me right away. I was able to follow a nutrition plan and learn how to eat healthy. Also, I was eating four times more than what I usually used to eat. Six meals a day and a workout routine was the key to success. Within my first week I saw results right away. I noticed that my body started to get toned pretty fast. I told Tayler that I really wanted to gain a booty and tone my legs. I am more than happy with my results I got with just eight weeks. This program really helped me count those macros and follow correct workout routines. I think it is really awesome when people compliment my progress. I know that I pushed myself hard with the help of Tayler. I surely recommend this program to anyone that wants to change their body and learn how to eat healthy!"

Riane looses inches while eating MORE food than ever before

I've been dedicated to living a healthy life style for years. I made it a point to work out almost every day and to eat as healthy as possible. Or so I thought. While I've never had an issue pushing myself in the gym, I have with my eating. Under eating was an issue. I'm a stylist and when you're booked 10 hours a day you just have very little time to eat. My body adjusted to that over time, and because of this I wasn't seeing results and I was getting very discouraged. Mentally I knew the issue was my low nutrition, and I knew I had to get right with it or I was never going to achieve the goals I had for my body and I certainly wasn't going to be "healthy". Before Taylor, I had very little knowledge of "macros" and the sound of eating 6 times a day just blew my mind. I mean, I was eating 2 meals on average!! Whaaaa? Because of Taylor I now know how to prep for my week and plan ahead. I think in terms of macros and not calories. I also make time for each of those 6 meals during the day, and I feel the healthiest I ever have. She's a great trainer and I'm thankful for everything she's done for me.

Mallory doesn’t need a stage to achieve her ultimate goal!

I met Tayler about two years ago when I decided to compete in my first bikini competition. This time was a little different. I only had 10 weeks to get my body stage ready and Taylor gave me the confidence and tools I needed to make it happen. I chose to use the online program again because it works great with my schedule. Tayler is always available to answer any questions I have. Due to a family surprise vocation, I was unable to compete on the day of the competition. To me, the end result is not what I look like in a spray tan all fancied up in heels walking on a stage being judged. To me, I love the process! The process of watching my body change week by week by eating healthy and kicking my butt in the gym. The whole process is my competition, it’s a competition I have with myself. Every week I wanted to look and feel better, and I did! My end goal was to feel good again about my body, and I achieved that with the support and knowledge of Tayler!

Kristina steps on stage for all the right reasons

Over the years I have become a women who works hard for everything I’ve achieved and have pushed myself harder than I thought I could. That is until my life changed in a matter of weeks making me realize how much of my life I never was selfish. Now, that word is never used lightly and I always hated it but I realized I didn’t love myself, I didn’t go out of my way to do things to make me happy and when I realized those things. I needed to fight for something to be happy and successful. To find me again. I have always been into working out and making myself better but never pushed myself to do more. When I first reached out to Tayler, I just wanted to have a distraction and finally get to the goal I always wanted. I worked out an 8 week program with her and within 3 weeks I stood in a stand still. I didn’t feel I was fighting for something, a goal. Yeah, my goal was to look better but I needed more than that. After talking to numerous amounts of people and Tayler supporting me 100% of the way I decided I needed to compete. Not to win the prize, look better than everyone else but to push myself more than ever and to find something to fight for. I had my days where friends and family questioned what I was doing and sometimes I even questioned what I was doing but all in all my biggest support system was our team that didn’t even know me well. People on Tayler’s team reached out to me for constant support, motivation and when I [...]

Why I am Making Fitness My Hobby and Not My Job

Aaahhhhh where do I even begin this blog. I think just by the title many people will know what this post is about however to field the 100 of questions, gossiping, speculation and everything else that people like to come up with I am going to lay it all out there. So about 6 months ago, right around when I turned 30, I started debating whether or not I wanted to continue in the field of fitness fulltime asking myself hundreds of questions daily like “Is this what I want to do forever?” “Does fitness make me happy” “Should I be looking for other opportunities?” and the list goes on and on but I think you get the point. Throughout that process I really got to sit back and look at all the things I had created, the business I built from the ground up and all the people’s lives I had changed and touched over the years. It brought tears to my eyes and made me so happy. Reading back through testimonials and thinking how proud I was of all of my athletes and clients I have worked with over the years. Now here comes the hard part, even with the brand I have built and all that I have achieved in such a short period of time I found myself wanting more. I love fitness and I love helping people but that was just the thing “I love helping people” These words started to take on a new meaning to me as well as my love for fitness. No, I am going to stop you right there before you even begin thinking that I am just jumping ship NO NO NO that is [...]

From ACL surgery to a competition stage

Growing up at Gold’s Gym I admired the work ethic of everybody at the gym especially my dad. I was always smaller and looked up to those bigger guys at the gym and new that eventually I’d be one of those guys. I began training with the bodybuilder mindset when I was playing baseball at Maple Woods Community College. It was always tough balancing between the want to be bigger and stronger while staying functional on the field and some might say that I focused a bit too much on the gym but I feel that I kept a good balance. In late fall of 2012 I had my first knee surgery which kept me off the field in the spring. All went well with the surgery and my recovery up until fall of 2014 when I not only tore my meniscus for the second time but also my ACL. When my doctor told me I had torn my ACL I knew that I had played my last game on a baseball field; while extremely sad about this, I was rejoicing at the same time because I knew that my bodybuilding journey was about to begin. There was no doubt in my mind who I wanted to lead me: Tayler Perry. I approached Tayler about competing while I was working at Gold’s Gym and told her that once I’d recovered that I wanted to start training with her. My ACL surgery was on January 7, 2015. By the next week I was in rehab and continued in rehab three times a week. Most ACL surgeries set people back six months but I worked my ass off and was 100% cleared by the end of April [...]

Savannah Transforms with The Better Body Program

I have always loved to work out but my work outs were so random and unstructured. I would go to the gym, do a few different exercises and think that was good enough. I was fed up with not seeing any results. Tayler had my program ready for me in a matter of one day! After only one week working with Tayler I felt amazing. My energy levels were elevated, I had a new positive attitude (like I could conquer the world) and I even saw physical changes. The weeks flew by and Tayler kept me motivated every week with her quick and meaningful responses to my progress each week. :)

Sarah transforms from Powerlifter to Bikini Competitor

After powerlifting for about a year and a half I knew I wanted to push my physique to show of the hard work I’ve put into my body… But I had no idea where to start. I googled fitness model training programs and visited a nutritionist, in addition to the many google searches I archived. Months passed of depressing meals and plateaued progress. I knew I needed some further guidance to provide me the proper tools… somewhere along the way I decided training for a specific event would give me the proper drive and motivation. I visited with several trainers, and made very clear timelines to complete my goals. At the point of choosing a trainer and officially starting comp prep I was pretty strung out. I was nervous. There were nights I became physically ill with the stress about dedicating myself to a bikini competition—what if I failed??? What would I tell my friends and family??? I knew I’d be embarrassed and ashamed if somehow I could not follow through, and truly competition prep was an unknown process to me. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. My fight or flight senses were going berserk. This is where fate interfered and gave me the best coach anyone could want for a 16 week intensive prep. Following my gut, I opted out of the guidance of one trainer in favor of Tayler’s training. As soon as I started training with her instruction, all the anxiety and fears melted away. In front of me was a clear cut plan telling me exactly what to do and when for the next four months. I didn’t have to think about a thing. Comp prep was [...]
