Aaahhhhh where do I even begin this blog. I think just by the title many people will know what this post is about however to field the 100 of questions, gossiping, speculation and everything else that people like to come up with I am going to lay it all out there. So about 6 months ago, right around when I turned 30, I started debating whether or not I wanted to continue in the field of fitness fulltime asking myself hundreds of questions daily like “Is this what I want to do forever?” “Does fitness make me happy” “Should I be looking for other opportunities?” and the list goes on and on but I think you get the point. Throughout that process I really got to sit back and look at all the things I had created, the business I built from the ground up and all the people’s lives I had changed and touched over the years. It brought tears to my eyes and made me so happy. Reading back through testimonials and thinking how proud I was of all of my athletes and clients I have worked with over the years.
Now here comes the hard part, even with the brand I have built and all that I have achieved in such a short period of time I found myself wanting more. I love fitness and I love helping people but that was just the thing “I love helping people” These words started to take on a new meaning to me as well as my love for fitness. No, I am going to stop you right there before you even begin thinking that I am just jumping ship NO NO NO that is not what I am doing at all! Going back to my statement “Wanting more” what I meant by that is I want more out of my career. Here I am 30 years old, built a successful business, created a brand and I am ready for more! I have created something that I can continue because I love helping people and not because it is my job.
Now, to field some of the BIG questions that I know everyone is thinking……
- Are you still going to have Team TaylerMade? YOU KIDDING ME PEOPLE OF COURSE I AM! This isn’t some long blog post about how I am giving up my fitness career, or never going to be a trainer again. I am still going to coach my athletes and continue to grow Team TaylerMade. Actually, Team TaylerMade will have much more of my focus as I enjoy being a coach more than competing myself.
- Are you going to still train clients? YES absolutely, my one-on-one clientele will still exists but on a much smaller scale. I also have a very successful online training business that allows me to reach people who are not close to my office or even those who are out of state. My online & Team TaylerMade will be more of my business now. Both my one-on-one clients, athletes and online clients still will have 100% of my attention and I will continue to get them the results that they are looking to achieve. All of my projects I have created and new fitness programs I’ve launched will still exist! I’ve even added an additional 3 online training programs to my website to reach even more clientele.
- Are you stepping away from competing? NO, Team TaylerMade will continue to build momentum and I believe a successful coach goes through the training and understands the time and dedication it takes to step on stage. Now I may not be doing 3 shows a year like I have done in the past but I will still be on stages! Heck people I’ve done 14 shows in 5 years I think I can take a little time off! Hahaha
Ok, now that I have fielded some of the major questions here comes the question that everyone is going to ask “But Why?” and here is the answer to that! As I mentioned earlier in my post “I want more”. I am looking for a ladder to climb, I want to achieve success in other areas other than fitness. I want that big promotion dangled over my head that I am trying to get. I am a business woman at heart and ready to achieve my next big goals in life. I want to train my clients because I love it not because it’s my job! Feel free to ask questions if I haven’t already answered them or post your comments about why you think I should or shouldn’t be doing this, “Heck, seems like everyone likes to state their opinion on social media whether they know you or not” hahah Also, because I know everyone is going to ask Yes, I have accepted a job offer and once all the paperwork is complete I will announce that job as well.
Congratulations Tayler!! No shame in expanding your horizons and continually setting and hitting new goals. Can’t wait to hear the job news. Very happy for you!!
Thank You so much for the love and support!
