Last November 2013 I decided to compete in my first Bodybuilding competition in the Bikini class. Although I did very well at the Me vs Me show, my body and overall health had been compromised. The diet was a little too rigorous for my body, but I still continued on not knowing what to expect. After the show was over, I knew I would end up loving this sport even more, but needed to find a coach that would take the time to learn my body and invest in time in me. That’s when a friend of mine Kris Bridwell highly recommended as you all know Miss Tayler Parry. After seeing pictures of not just Tayler but all of the Taylermadefit girls, I knew I wanted to join the team.

I met with Tayler shortly after my first competition. She laid everything out in a simple manner, which I liked. We went over goals that seemed realistic for me. Upon that deciding on KC Classic 2014 All Natural Show. As her closing statement to our meeting she said ” Lift heavy girl!” So I took Tayler’s words of wisdom and did as she had said.
So then June rolls around and it was time to start prepping for KC classic! I cleaned up my diet at 14 weeks but really went full speed with Tayler at 12 weeks. What really threw me through a loop was the fact that she made things so clear and uncomplicated. I wasn’t used to that. Not putting down other trainers approach. I just really liked her style to start off with.
All the other Taylermadefit girls and I started posing practice right away. It was so helpful and really conditioned us for stage. By seeing Tayler every week at posing practice, it really showed me what a natural she is at coaching! She has a great eye for it as well, seeing things that I didn’t see. The passion she has for the sport truly radiates off of her! Not only that but she genuinely loves her girls. I’ve been so happy to be a part of a team that takes the sport seriously but still laughs and has fun.
As the weeks grew closer to the show, my emotions and hormones were going haywire! She received endless emotional texts from me and probably the same question more than once, but she always responded with care.
Show day was a mixture of craziness and fun! I imagine all of us barely got any sleep that week, but we grabbed our suit and heels, smiling anyway. Throughout the day I met some great people that had the same zeal for the sport as I did yet still managed to have a good time.
Although Tayler was insanely busy working the tan booth, she still checked on us girls and responded to all of our messages. Each time I stepped on stage, I heard her cheering and giving direction! It was so encouraging.
As awards were about to be given my nerves were going wild. I ended up placing
1st in novice short bikini
1st in open short bikini
3rd in overall bikini
Upon that receiving my IFPA pro card
As I heard my name being called for my pro card, I also heard Tayler screaming in the background. At the time I wasn’t sure if I was going to drop to my knees or cry like a baby. I grabbed Tayler and couldn’t stop crying. This day was a dream come true! With all this being said, follow your dreams no matter what they are. Run to the things you fear the most and see what happens. I couldn’t put a price on the experience I’ve had with Tayler and the taylermadefitgirls!
